Brick Lane Doors

So happy with Norm’s decision to go on with the weekly Door Challenge…it injects a bit of normalcy to our lives. It has been quite mentally disturbing the past few weeks and doing this blog puts my mind to some other place …. whether it be to some places in Europe that i’ve been too, some cafes that I had some breakfast in, some flowers that I saw in my walks or some doors that I took photos of.

Here are some doors in Brick Lane, London and photos were taken in November of 2018.

Street art is so alive and well in Brick Lane, London. I am not sure if these street arts are still there, since it changes ever so often, but here is a glimpse of it. Some may be considered as graffiti but these ones I have here are definitely works of art of art. What do you think?

Got shots of a few of those too – these links are from my other blog but will post them on my WordPress one soon: 1) by Mr Cenz in Hanbury street, this is a very popular spot for some of the top street artists from UK and elsewhere, so I doubt that it still there now, though it was still there in on 1st July last year when this one was taken – https://urbanartalacarte.blogspot.com/2017/08/street-art-by-mr-cenz-31.html Mr Cenz also has (what seems to be) a permanent spot in nearby Fashion Street 2) by Dscreet also in Hanbury Street. This one dates back to 2012 and I took this shot in September 2015. I’m not 100% sure, but I think it may still be there https://urbanartalacarte.blogspot.com/2015/11/street-art-by-dscreet-2.html 3) Also in Hanbury Street, I don’t know the artist for this one but I took this shot in April 2019 and it was still there in July. Some piece in and around Brick lane can last for ages while others disappear very quickly. Cheers.

    I’ve seen quite a lot of the art you have shown here, on one of my trips, but much has changed

  8. I love these – so beautiful! It reminds me of visiting a neighborhood covered in graffiti art in Sao Paulo, Brazil a few years ago. These artists are very talented and should be taken seriously!

  9. Great doors you found! Forgot where you lived, by since the travel ban I have been thinking about several places we were in Europe (I’m from Holland) and hoped this situation won’t go on and on, so we can visit again:)

  10. I would definitely consider these street art and not just graffiti – which I categorize as vandalism. I like the bright neon colours of the first door, but the muted style of the third door comes a very close second.
