Yellow

“It is the color closest to light. In its utmost purity it always implies the nature of brightness and has a cheerful, serene, gently stimulating character. Hence, experience teaches us that yellow makes a thoroughly warm and comforting impression.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Yellow is a happy colour and I am so delighted that it is the prompt for today. Bet you this would also make your day.

This is for Friendly Friday Photo Challenge – Yellow

Lovely “sunshiney” yellow flowers

Some yellows from all over the world. Yellow doors in Notting Hill, Yellow House in Budapest, Yellow Souvenir Shop in Szentendre near Budapest, Riverside Bank in Prague, the lovely Royal Brunei aircraft, the Ponte Vecchio Bridge and a wonderful texture of a building in Verona, Italy.

Two delicious yellow desserts, one homemade and one from a dessert place.

Some yellows from around Victoria in Australia. A colourful yellow bathing box in Brighton near Melbourne CBD, some finds in Sassafras in the Dandenong Ranges of Victoria, Australia and a streetart in Melbourne.

  1. I remember as a child I would be teased for happily claiming that yellow is my favourite colour, with the stupid rhyme, ‘Yellow yellow dirty fellow’ chanted obnoxiously at me but I have remained faithful to the colour; the warmth, the brightness of yellow just fills me up with joy. 🙂

I must say these are beautiful pictures and that you have a wonderful blog.

  2. A wonderful cornucopia of yellow photos for the Friendly Friday Photo Challenge prompt, Teresa. I think I remember that house in Verona. So striking. The Notting hill house also caught my eye. I love how you described the characteristics of yellow – closest to light. Maybe that is why we feel it makes us happy when we see it in nature?
