The Sand Dunes of Ilocos Norte

“Even though you’re growing up, you should never stop having fun.” – Nina Dobrev

These amazing sand dunes in the northern part of the Philippines have been there for as long as I can remember, but it is only recently that it has become a popular tourist destination.

This is the beautiful, sandy landscape of The Sand Dunes in Laoag, La Union. But we didn’t go there for the scenery … we went there for the ACTION!

This is for Frank’s Tuesday Photo Challenge- Action

Our driver immediately accelerates and the 4X4 jeep took us on a thrilling joyride across the sand dunes. The most exciting part is, like a rollercoaster, the jeep descends to a very steep incline while all of us were falling over and bumping onto each other.

We stopped in the middle of the sand dunes for a photo opportunity. Jump…pose…action… haha so much fun! Then after a few minutes, off we continued on the bumpy and exhilarating ride of our life.

And next is an attempt to go down from the top to the bottom of the hill. Imagine shouting, laughing and rolling all at the same time.

Local outdoor group Laoag Eco-Adventure Development Movement (LEAD Movement) first introduced driving over the sand dunes and later on established sandboarding.
