The topic for Frank’s Tuesday Photo Challenge is transportation. What better country to featured today than the Philippines.
The Philippines is a very small country consists of 7,107 island, so it is not surprising that there are so many modes of transportation. Here are just a few:
1.) Jeepney
The jeepney is probably the most popular mode of transportation in the Philippines, especially in the cities. It is an iconic transportation, usually painted in very colourful designs and any foreigner travelling to the Philippines should try to experience this.

2.) Tricycle
These modes of transport come in a variety of designs and is very much like the tuk tuk. This originally could just fits 3 passengers plus the driver but nowadays , the design has been altered and could now fit even up to 8 passengers. Tricycles are as colorful as passenger jeepneys.

3.) Banca (Boat)
Philippine inter-island travels are best done via ferry boats. Bancas are usually small fishing vessels with wooden panels and bamboo riggers. These are mostly used for Island hopping tours as well as for fishing.

4.) Airplane
This is more costly but is a faster way to visit the many islands of the Philippines. There are more than 10 international airports and more than 30 principal domestic airports in the country. There are a few choices of domestic airlines too.

Love the beauty of the banca scene!
