“A good life is a collection of happy moments.” Happy Pills #22
Last weekend was the start of Christmas festivities in Melbourne CBD … not as extravagant as in the Philippines (and I really miss these celebrations) … not as grand as in the USA (hope I could experience that one day) … not as festive as London (wish I could be there with my son Tim) but yes this is Christmas in Melbourne… simple and true and warm and rainy and cold and windy. (Four seasons in one day, remember?)

Here are some doors for Norm’s Thursday Doors Challenge- Festive Doors and some windows for Ludwig’s Monday Windows – Festive Windows.
Doors:
This is the door to Santa’s house which can be found at Federation square in the centre of Melbourne CBD.

One of the flower shop doors

The following are doors of the Melbourne Town Hall. Every night, from 9 till 10:45, you can see the projections light up the town hall.

To celebrate the Christmas spirit, there is a free nightly show at the Melbourne Town Hall depicting Melbourne’s multiculturalism.
Windows:

Next are some window displays at the Myer store in Bourke Street, Melbourne. Every year, for 64 years now, Myer has its annual christmas window display, which has been bringing joy to young and old alike. This year’s theme is Gumnut Babies – an Adventure Away from Gumnut Land, which is based on the work of Australian female author and illustrator, May Gibbs.
Window animation is open daily from 7:30am til 10pm

Beautiful, colourful photos, Teresa, and very festive, too. Not so sure about the giant spider, though 😮

Haha ah the giant spider, I guess it is ok with the kids because they were all with their parents.

Lovely, festive, joyful, happy photos! I know you must miss celebrating the “ber” months in the Philippines but so glad you have some celebrating in Melbourne. Happy beginning of the Christmas season in Australia. =)

Thanks Brenda, you are familiar with the Philippines’ long celebration of Christmas haha. Well, I try to search for the happy places, or else I will be sad ☹️

Yes, I have a lot of friends from the Philippines and lived there for a bit (I think I already told you though I’m getting old so you can understand – haha). Lovely country with a big heart, especially at Christmas, my favorite holiday. Keep looking for the happy places!!

Haha yes, I think you’re told me once before. But that doesn’t matter, we’re both in the same boat. But I guess you’re even younger than me, you look like it. 😊

Hmmm … I turned 59 two weeks ago. My profile photo was taken five years ago on a beach vacation. My daughter stuck a flower in my hair and said “smile!” I love beach vacations! =)

Some amazing decorations on these places, they really go all out!
I loved the candy cane handles on the painted doors too.
Great post for the season 🙂

Thanks Norm. But I don’t think Melbourne goes all out for these occasions as compared to US or UK or even the Philippines.
