Aside from Cite de Carcassone, there are so much more to see in this wonderful place. It has great architecture, galleries, monuments, walkways, and cafes.

Here are samples of the different architecture that can be seen in the centre of Carcassonne.

And then there is this little church, the Chapelle Notre Dame de la Sante, that sat at the end of the bridge across from the medieval city. It is quiet and serene inside with the view of the stained glass window, so it is nice just to sit and reflect or maybe even light a candle or two. Our hotel was just beside this so we were able to wander on the esplanade and soak in the view.
