La Cite, the Fairytale Castle in Carcassonne – Wanderlust @74

From afar, this medieval fort of La Cite, looks like something out of a children’s story book.

The Cite de Carcassonne is located in the French city of Carcassone.

This castle was decided to be preserved in 1849 and it became a part of the UNESCO world heritage list of sites in 1997.

This is the Statue of Dame de Carcas, on the entry to the castle.

Walking the narrow streets of La Cite, Carcassonne… it seems like you are transported to another world … to another time!
