Early Mother’s Day for Me

“Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.”- unknown

My daughter left today. She was sent by work to Perth, UK, to NYC and to New Jersey! She is so excited but nervous at the same time because schedule will be very hectic and she will be training a lot of people from different countries (and lots of them will even be much older than her).

But since she won’t be with me for Mother’s Day, we had an early celebration. She surprised me with this beautiful bouquet 💐 We also had dinner at a Thai Vegetarian restaurant and we had dessert and tea afterwards.

As all mothers do, I love Mother’s Day … it is that one day in a year that we feel extra special.

I was talking to my friend last week and she feels sad because her only daughter seems to be drifting farther and farther away from her. Sometimes her daughter would text her saying “Happy Mother’s Day” or “Happy Birthday” and will transfer money to her bank account and that’s it. But is that enough? Some would say that at least she remembered her. But for me and my friend feels the same way too, that we don’t care about the gifts but it is our kids’ presence in our lives that is more important. That is not asking for too much right?

    1. Thanks Sylvia, and Happy Mother’s Day to you too. Is it the same as Australia, which is the second Sunday in May? I get confused because Australia wants to be different. (Fathers’s Day down under is in September 🤷🏻‍♀️)
      Regards, Teresa
