Venice at Night – Wanderlust @57

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”– Eleanor Roosevelt

Arrived in Venice during the golden hour and the colour of the sky was spectacular! As the sun goes down, and the lights turned on, the view of Venice became more memorable.

I love Venice at night as the crowd has long gone. There are deserted streets and outdoor concerts and empty bridges that you can go back again and again to take selfies minus the crowd.

First night in Venice and we had dinner at Ristorante Antico Pignolo. This restaurant was opened in 1930. The film “Summertime” with Katherine Hepburn was filmed in its dining rooms.

Do you prefer a Gondola ride at night or during the day? I went during the day, but I guess it’s a matter of preference. Please take note of the Gondola Ride schedule before you go.

St Marks Basilica still magnificent at night! It is the most well known example of an Italo-Byzantine architecture. It has the opulent design and gold mosaic, elements of this kind of architecture.

Piazza San Marco is filled with music, classical and live bands at night time. It is a wonderful place to relax, have a snack and have a drink or two.

Lots of paintings that you can view or even buy along the way.

The Masks of Venice.

Night time in Venice is just wonderful…without the crowd!
