10 Reasons Why You’ll love Budapest – Wandelust @32

“Traveling’s not something you’re good at. It’s something you do. Like Breathing.” – Gayle Foreman

1) Admire the opulence of The Hungarian Parliament which is a popular tourist attraction that lies on the banks of the Danube.

2) Be amazed with the Fisherman’s Bastion, which is a spectacular attraction in the Buda castle area. And yes that’s me with my “I❤️BUDAPEST” umbella that I bought because it was raining so hard!

3) Go inside the Matthias Church, which is a Roman catholic church located in front of the Fisherman’s Bastion at the heart of the Buda Castle District.

4) Be impressed with the St Stephans Basilica, which is the largest church in Hungary.

5) Appreciate Budapest’s and Europe’s largest Synagogue, the Dohany Street Synagogue located in the Jewish Quarter.

6) Stand in the centre of Heroes Square, which is one of the major squares in Budapest and have a view of all the pillars and the iconic statues.

7) Discover Gundel restaurant, which has been around since 1894 but has recently switched to a new chef. The place is very elegant, serving gourmet dishes.

8) Have a taste of the Chicken Paprikash. I ordered this dish below, which is a typical Hungarian Cuisine which uses paprika (of course) as its main spice. It is served with egg dumplings called nokedili.

9) Have wine tasting and dinner at the Schieszl Winery. This experience is part of the Be My Guest tour of Trafalgar.

10) Explore Budapest and see its amazing Street arts & monuments

Note to self when I return to Budapest:

Don’t miss going to the

1) Funicular – as it was not working since November is a slow month.

2) the Baths- our plan was to go on our last day, but it turned out to be a very wet day

3) See more of the statues and street arts

4) Have lunch or dinner at the Szimpla Kert, a restaurant in District VII

Have you been to Budapest? This is a must visit!
