A few hours in Esztergom, Hungary – Wanderlust @30

“Go

Our Trafalgar tour was on its way to Budapest and we passed by this lovely city on a hill…Esztergom!

We just stayed there for a few hours to look at the scenery but oh my gosh…the view was astounding.

You just have to see it to believe it!

The first thing we saw was the grounds of the basilica, it was so wide and so beautiful and so clean.

The Esztergom Basilica is the largest church in Hungary and sits high and mighty on top of Castle Hill.

The interior was also quite amazing.

But when we went out to view the scenery overlooking the Danube.. that is a different story!

Have you been to Esztergom, Hungary? You don’t have to be religious to appreciate the place.

  1. This looks like my kind of place. I’ve been to Hungary, but just briefly on a shore excursion from a cruise. I always appreciate learning about these out of the way places that I always seem to miss. Better to at least hear about them from my fellow bloggers than to not know they exist. Those pictures of the bridge are my favorites.
