What country do you first think of when I mention texture? For me, it is definitely Venice. The texture of the walls, the canals, the houses, the churches, the water… I can’t simply take it off my mind!

I don’t know what material it is that the bird is standing on, but it is for measuring the height of the canal water as you can see in the wooden leg which show the trace of water.

It looks like the canvas or other material that forms the side has had a hole torn in it. I can envision a bird building a nest inside it, can’t you?
