“Now is the time. It’s our time to chase rainbows and build castles in the sky. It’s our time to create a life that we love. Because someday, it will no longer be our time.” – Shawn Anderson
Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge topic for this week is Roofs of Any Kind. This took me back to the time when my husband and I went on a trip to Europe in 2016. While wandering around some of the European capitals, we were so impressed by the range of architecture of the churches and the castles among other things.
Montserrat Abbey in Catalonia, Spain
St. Hubert’s Chapel located in Amboise, is the resting place of Leonardo da Vinci
The Palaise des Papes is a historical palace located in Avignon, Southern France
El Arco y Puerta de Santa Maria is an iconic site in Burgos
The Chateau d’ Amboise is located in the Loire Valley in France
La Cite de Carcassonne is a medieval fortress located in Carcassone
I’ve always wanted to go to Carcassonne..

Not just the roofs are impressive! I visited the Palaise des Papes some years ago and it’s quite something.

It’s hard to look at these and not wonder how they were able to build them with the tools they had at the time. Marvelous.
